In 1971, revolutionary designer Massimo Osti, recognized worldwide as the "Father of Sportswear", founded the Chester Perry brand, whose name became CP Company in 1978.
In 1978, British clothing brands Chester Barry and Fred Perry simultaneously took legal action against the Bolognese designer for using their first and last name, respectively. Massimo subsequently decided to change the name of the Chester Perry brand to CP Company.
This more mature and concise name marked the beginning of the most explosive and influential burst of creativity in the modern history of Italian fashion and would quickly allow CP Company to become the essential brand of choice for artists and intellectuals Italians.
For more than 45 years, the brand continued to offer an iconic hybrid mix of sporty, professional and military styles, combining them with innovative, avant-garde and highly sophisticated Italian fabrics.
